So I am using PowerGUI to export some information out of AD...I have selected the attributes that I want displayed...select the users in question and export to CSV...the problem is that all of the attributes are exported to the CSV...it takes a very long time to do not many users...how can I get PowerGUI to export only the attributes that I have selected?

I have the same issue with the export.  My work around is to select all and copy and paste into a spreadsheet.

Anyone else have any comments on this? Is this by design? If the application can filter the results on the screen then it should be able to filter it when sending information to file...

I have a comment:

It's confusing and needs to be fixed!

Unfortunately, the dev team is arguing about how we should change this behavior.

Not only that, but it get's worse: we don't always show you all of the object attributes, only the "default" ones for performance reasons.  Loading all of the attributes would take forever, and you probably will only rarely need to see everything.

One solution to all of this is to build a new action called "export all columns" and change the existing 'Export to CSV' to be something like "Export visible columns to CSV"

This is not working to my satisfaction, and the only thing stopping us from changing it is all of the other cool stuff we are working on.

Bear with us - we will get this working properly.
