Windows Vista is the first Microsoft product to use Volume Activation (VA) 2.0 – the license enforcement mechanism which requires companies to activate software even if Volume License Keys (VLK) are being used. This powerpack connects remotely to the KMS server and produces a report on the activation requests which the service receives from the network.
Technically, the powerpack extracts and parses the "An activation request has been processed" (ID=12290) events logged into "Key Management Service" log file of the specified computer.
Setup instructions:
1. Download the .powerpack file attached to this post.
2. Import the file in PowerGUI left-hand tree.
3. Open the node properties and specify the KMS computer name in the $RemoteComputerName variable.
